THE CELEBRATION Continues: Jamaica Independence Foundation, Inc celebration is about keeping our culture, values , morals, ancestry and heritage alive through praise and thanksgiving (with family and friends both at home and abroad). Our cause is to support charitable organizations that give aide to women in crisis, advocating for women, underserved communities and help with recovery through the creation of economic and social programs; to support amateur sports teams from Jamaica W.I, that compete in the United States and abroad.
TEAM JAMAICA BICKLE, INC
TJB is the leading organization in sports, providing support services for Caribbean athletes, particularly Jamaicans who compete at the annual Penn Relays Carnival, which is held at the University of Pennsylvania, (UPENN) in Philadelphia, PA. We are a not-for-profit corporation based in New York State; formed in 1994 and later designated a 501(c)(3) organization.
Our founder is the current CEO Irwine G. Clare Snr. The affiliated TJB-Philadelphia Organizing Committee was simultaneously formed by co-founder Blane Stoddart who now heads the affiliated Friends of Team Jamaica Bickle, also based in Philadelphia, PA.
TJB’s mission is embodied in the motto, ‘Our Athletes, Our Ambassadors’. TJB’s services extend to a delegation of approximately six hundred & fifty (650) students and coaches from Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Vincent & The Grenadines Guyana and Grenada.
Over the years TJB has welcomed and extended its services to delegations of students and coaches from the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), Bahamas, Barbados and most recently Belize. Team Jamaica Bickle provides the following:
In 1999, Team Jamaica Bickle became the first Jamaican organization to be a participating sponsor at the Penn Relays. As a result the Jamaican flag became the first foreign flag to be flown at the Penn Relays, a distinction unmatched. Over the years, TJB has received numerous proclamations and awards from several local and national entities.

UNION OF JAMAICA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (UJAA, USA)
The Union of Jamaican Alumni Association (USA) is a non-profit umbrella organization of Alumni Associations of Jamaican educational institutions. The member associations are comprised of primary, secondary and tertiary intuitions from Jamaica along with several nonprofits organizations whose focus is on education.
Based in New York, it was created to unify the activities of all associations dedicated to the improvement of educational opportunities for all students in Jamaica and those who have immigrated to the USA.

SAFE HORIZON
Founded May 26, 1978, Safe Horizon is the nation’s leading victim services agency. Each year, they empower more than 250,000 survivors of crime and abuse across New York City to find safety, hope and healing. They provide safety planning, emergency shelter, legal services, mental health treatments, phone and web chat-based counseling, and innovative programming to uniquely engage and support survivors in crisis.
They are proud to partner with New York City communities and many partner providers to help survivors and their children on their journeys from crisis to confidence. The Crisis Centre also offers short-term shelter to battered women.
MUSTARD SEED COMMUNITIES
Mustard Seed Communities (MSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to caring for the most vulnerable populations in society. MSC began in 1978 as a home for children with disabilities on the outskirts of Kingston, Jamaica, and has expanded to Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. The majority of programs are dedicated to the residential care of children and adults with a range of developmental and physical disabilities. MSC also cares for children affected by HIV in Jamaica, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. MSC Jamaica manages a home for young mothers in crisis so that they have a place to transition safely into motherhood. The vision for each apostolate is to create a loving and caring environment to aid in the physical, mental, and spiritual development of more than 600 residents worldwide. https://www.mustardseed.com/
ROSE TOWN FOUNDATION
The Rose Town Foundation was established in 2010 to assist in creating opportunities for residents of the Rose Town community to improve the quality of their lives through active participation in development programs that enhance their built environment, socio-economic status and community health.
